Meet Ellie Barch, PsyD
Hi! I’m Ellie Barch, a White, cisgender, bisexual individual using she/her pronouns. I am a licensed clinical psychologist in Massachusetts.
I earned my doctoral degree from William James College (formerly Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology) and received clinical training in college counseling and neuro/psychological testing. I’ve treated highly traumatized individuals in a community setting, and provided individual and group therapy services to adults in a residential eating disorder facility.
Since 2016, I have been providing psychotherapy in the private practice realm. I’ve enjoyed working with clients seeking support for trauma, anxiety, relationship stress, managing a non-monogamous lifestyle, gender transitions, eating disorders, and depression. However, since the covid pandemic (and the associated mental health crisis in the US) I began searching for new ways to create deeper change for more individuals in my community.
In 2024, I completed a year-long training program in Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy through the Integrative Psychiatry Institute, which certified me to offer Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy. Since then I have also completed two KAP retreats for providers through Relationship Resources, the KAP training offered by the Boston Psychedelic Therapy Group, and a workshop on providing small-group KAP run by Katja Cahoon, LCSW. I am certified in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and the Flash Technique through the Trauma Institute, as well as Dr. Stephen Porge’s Safe and Sound Protocol. Using my own experience in long-term trauma recovery as a model for healing, I created Amethyst Integration as a platform to offer short-term intensive care to guide clients back towards healthy life trajectories.
Personally, I spent my early childhood along the Northern California coast and the rest of my upbringing in a valley of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia. I am inspired by the resilience of nature and how this reflects on the resiliency of life as a whole. I don’t identify as being religious, but I do find spiritual fulfillment by spending mindful time in nature every day. My ancestors came to the United States from Poland, England, Germany and Ireland. I acknowledge the ways in which my privilege as a White, educated, citizen of the United States influences my experience of life. I strongly identify as an ally of those in marginalized groups and I strive to maintain awareness of how my privileges may interact with the social location of the client sitting in front of me. I learn as much from my clients as they learn from me, and I defer to my clients’ personal understanding of their experiences in moving through the world.
In my spare time you can find me doing something crafty, experimenting with a new vegetarian recipe, hiking with my dog, and playing board games with my spouse. I am a lover of live music, every animal, and true crime podcasts.
